Edinburgh South Ladies made a winning start to season 2024-25 courtesy of a hard-fought victory over McDermid Ladies at Holy Rood.
The only goal of the game came from midfielder Robyn Fleming, a stand-out performer from last season looking to become even more of a big-game hit in the new campaign.
South created plenty of chances on the day but were thwarted by McDermid keeper Chloe Hunter, who kept the Fifers in with a chance in this SWFL Cup group game.
The women’s senior team are back in SWFL Cup action on Sunday, as they travel north to take on Blairgowrie – big winners in their Scottish Cup preliminary round tie at the weekend – with a 2 pm kick-off at Davie Park.
